35 Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls: Trendy Styles

I sat next to a teenager at the salon last month, and she asked for a French bob with soft bangs. Not the blunt, severe kind from TikTok. A softer one, light brown, with a little fringe that brushed her eyebrows. I watched her stylist cut it, and I thought: that’s the shift. 2027 is not about sharp edges. It is about shapes that still move.

This roundup has 35 Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls, from low-upkeep bobs to layered lobs that survive a week of gym class. Some need a round brush and patience. Others work with air-dry and a prayer. I picked cuts that suit fine hair, thick hair, curly hair, and the kind that goes flat by 4 pm. My own fringe has been through worse, so I am not promising perfection. I am promising a trim schedule that makes sense.

Light Brown French Bob With Soft Bangs

The french bob with curtain bangs is a precise, blunt line that lands at the chin, and that’s exactly why it works: it cuts the face at its narrowest point, which flatters round and heart shapes by adding a little structure. The soft, wavy texture and tucked ends keep the line from feeling severe, and the middle part lets the curtain bangs frame without committing to a full fringe. It’s a youthful cut that still reads polished, but it’s not for everyone. If your hair is very fine, the blunt weight can make it look thinner, and if your jaw is already square, the chin-length line will emphasize it. The texture needs a bit of wave to hold the shape.

Medium Brown Shag With Curtain Bangs

Do you want a cut that looks good on day three? That’s the shag haircut with curtain bangs. The shoulder-length, medium brown layers are cut to blend softly, so the lived-in look is built into the shape, not a happy accident. The loose waves just need a texturizing spray or mousse, then air dry, and you’re out the door. Minimal heat, which my flat-by-4pm hair appreciates.

The upkeep is forgiving: a trim every 8 to 10 weeks keeps the shaggy shape from turning into a shapeless blob, and the curtain bangs grow out into face-framing layers, so you’re never in a panic about a fringe emergency. It’s the kind of cut that holds up across a real week, not just in the mirror at the salon.

Dark Brown Curly Bob With Defined Curls

The curly bob with curtain bangs is a masterclass in working with your texture, not against it. The chin-length shape is cut to land where your curls naturally bounce, so the defined curls get to do the talking. The dark brown base with subtle highlights adds depth, and the curtain bangs frame the face without fighting the curl pattern. It’s a cut that respects your natural texture, and that’s rare. The bob shape enhances the curls by giving them a clear boundary, so they don’t just trail off into nothing. If your hair is thick and curly, this cut will feel like a relief.

Shaggy Lob With Textured Waves

I’ll admit it: I was once the person who asked for a shaggy lob with curtain bangs and walked out looking like I’d lost a fight with a hedge trimmer. The mistake is asking for ‘texture’ and letting the stylist go wild. The collarbone length needs choppy layers that are blended, not hacked, and the medium brown base with subtle highlights keeps the texture visible without looking like a bird’s nest.

The honest downside is that this cut lives or dies by the stylist’s scissors. If the layers are too aggressive, you’ll spend every morning wrestling with pieces that go every direction. The fix is to ask for ‘soft choppy layers’ and bring a photo, so the stylist knows you want texture, not a mullet. The textured waves are meant to be scrunched with a sea salt spray and left alone, not over-styled.

Warm Brown Layered Lob With Soft Waves

Via content.latest-hairstyles.com

The layered lob with soft waves is the quiet overachiever of haircuts. The collarbone length is universally flattering, and the soft, blended layers add movement without any of the shag’s chaos. The warm brown color does the heavy lifting, and the lack of bangs means you can part it anywhere, which is a flexibility that suits oval, round, and heart faces alike. The soft waves are created with a round brush and a blow dryer, or you can cheat with a texturizing product and air dry. It’s a cut that doesn’t demand a specific texture, so it works on wavy, straight, or slightly curly hair. The only people who should pass are those who want a dramatic change, because this is a safe, subtle choice that’s more about polish than statement.

Sandy Beige Balayage Mid-Length

This is the color that makes me want to book a beach trip I cannot afford. The sandy beige balayage runs from a darker root through a mid-length cut with soft layers, and the beachy texture is air-dried, not curled. No bangs, a middle part, and the waves do the work. The color reads warm and natural, like you just walked off the sand. It is summer in a haircut, no heat styling required.

Layered Shoulder Length With Braided Headband

Can we talk about the braided headband? It is the detail that makes a simple shoulder length hair with braid look intentional. The cut is layered, shoulder-length, light brown, no bangs, side part. Loose waves underneath, a braid woven across the crown. The texture is wavy and soft, the braid adds structure.

This is a salon job, not a bathroom mirror project. The braid needs a steady hand and a clear plan. The rest is second-day hair with a texturizing spray. The braided headband lifts the whole cut without a trim. Book the appointment, practice the braid at home.

Ash Blonde Mid-Length Shag With Choppy Bangs

Ash Blonde Mid-Length Shag With Choppy Bangs — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls

The ash blonde shag haircut with choppy bangs is the edgy cousin of every soft, rounded cut. It is not gentle. The shag layers are uneven, the choppy bangs hit above the brow, the texture is fine and wavy. Middle part, ash blonde tone. It reads sharp and undone. The choppy bangs demand a trim every six weeks to keep the edge. Soft curtain bangs will not give you this. You have to commit.

Ash Blonde Chin Bob With Side Swept Bangs

Ash Blonde Chin Bob With Side Swept Bangs — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls
Source: cdn2.stylecraze.com

The chin length bob with side swept bangs lands right at the jaw, and that is the whole point. Fine, wavy texture, ash blonde with subtle highlights. The textured waves are shaped with a round brush, not a curling iron. Side part, side-swept bangs that soften the line. A trim every six weeks keeps the bob sharp. The waves drop by midday if the hair is too fine. A texturizing spray buys you until dinner. The upkeep is real, but the shape is worth it.

What you need: a round brush, a texturizing spray, a trim every six weeks. The side-swept bangs grow fast. Book the cut, commit to the blow-dry.

Sleek Caramel Angled Bob

I will confess: I tried to get this look with a flat iron and a prayer. It did not work. The angled bob with side swept bangs needs a precise cut, longer in front, shorter in back. Caramel with blonde highlights, chin-length, straight fine texture. The sleek finish is the whole point. No waves, no texture spray. The honest downside: fine hair goes flat fast. You need a smoothing serum and a flat iron every morning. It is a daily commitment, but the angle is sharp and modern.

Simple Dark Brown Bob

Fine hair, is this your year? A simple bob haircut at chin length is the answer if you want to look put together without fighting your texture all day. The blunt cut creates the illusion of density where there isn’t much, and the absence of layers means nothing falls apart by lunch. Straight, fine strands hold their shape here because there is nothing to separate. A middle part widens a round face, so try a deep side part instead. No bangs means zero daily fuss, just a blow dry or air dry and go.

Long Dark Brown Layers With Loose Waves

Long Dark Brown Layers With Loose Waves — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls

Long layers with loose waves at mid-back length look like they happen by accident. They do not. I have spent more mornings than I care to count coaxing volume into long hair that wants to lie flat. The layers here are cut to stack, not just to remove weight, so the waves have something to grip. A blow-dry with a round brush or a quick pass of a curling iron is the difference between a good hair day and a flat one. Air dry with a wave spray if you are patient, but expect softer, shorter-lived curl.

The upkeep is a trim every eight to ten weeks, mostly to keep the ends from looking straggly. The colour is dark brown with subtle highlights, so the grow-out is kind. You do not see a hard root line at week five. This is not a wash-and-go cut, but it is a reliable one.

Blonde Long Layers With Curtain Bangs

Blonde Long Layers With Curtain Bangs — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls

This is the cut that makes you look like you have a plan. Blonde hair with curtain bangs and long layers is built on a simple principle: the bangs are cut to sweep away from the face, not across it, so they blend into the layers instead of sitting as a separate piece. The layers start at the cheekbone and graduate down, which keeps the length from feeling heavy. Straight, fine texture works best here because the bangs will lie flat and the layers will hold their shape without extra product. A middle part is non-negotiable for the curtain effect to work.

The technique asks for a stylist who understands graduation. A blunt bang cut across the forehead will not blend. Ask for the shortest point of the bang to hit the outer corner of your eye, then soften into the layers below. The blonde with lighter highlights adds dimension, but the cut does the real work.

Light Brown Layers With Soft Waves

Long layers with curtain bangs in light brown is the version of a shag that does not try so hard. A shag is choppy and demands styling every single day. This is softer, with layers that feather rather than carve. The curtain bangs are cut to graze the cheekbone, and the waves are created with a round brush, not a razor. Straight, fine hair can wear this without looking stringy because the layers are subtle enough to add movement without removing density. The light brown with blonde highlights keeps it from reading flat.

It is less dramatic than a shag, which is exactly the point. You get the face-framing effect without the commitment to texture spray and a diffuser. A blow-dry with a smoothing serum is enough. The grow-out is gentle because the layers are long and the bangs sweep sideways.

Medium Brown Long Layers With Full Fringe

Long layers with full fringe and blunt ends is a specific tool for a specific job. If you have a wider forehead, the fringe covers it directly, and the layers keep the rest of the hair from hanging like a curtain. The blunt ends are important here because they give the silhouette a clean line, which balances the density of the fringe. Straight texture is almost required — curly or wavy hair will push the fringe into a triangle shape by noon. Medium brown is low contrast, so the fringe reads as part of the cut, not as a separate piece. A trim every six weeks keeps the fringe from landing in your eyes.

Light Brown Ponytail With Colorful Scrunchies

When did getting ready in under five minutes start looking this put together? The ponytail with scrunchies is the rare style that reads as playful without trying, and the colorful accents do all the heavy lifting. My light brown hair with blonde highlights sits in a high ponytail, wavy and medium density, with long layers that keep the tail from looking like a single heavy rope. No bangs to wrestle, just a side part and a handful of scrunchies spaced down the length. This is a pure DIY situation, no salon appointment required, and it survives gym class, lunch, and a full school day without complaint.

Half-Up Half-Down With Top Knot

I will admit I rolled my eyes at the half up half down with top knot the first time I saw it on a teenager. Then I tried it on my own thick, wavy hair and understood the appeal. The long layers give the loose waves somewhere to move, and the top knot pulls everything off my face without committing to a full updo. It takes me about ten minutes on second-day hair, which is exactly when it works best.

The cut itself is the real time investment. A trim every ten to twelve weeks keeps the layers from growing into one shapeless mass, and that rhythm matters more than any styling trick. Middle part, wavy texture, no bangs to maintain. It is the practical answer to the question of how to look done without actually doing much.

Dark Brown Long Layers With Side Bangs

This is the haircut that makes everyone assume you have a stylist on retainer. The dark brown base reads expensive, and the long side swept bangs sweep across the forehead like they were painted there. Thick, wavy texture carries the loose waves beautifully, and the mid-back length gives the layers room to actually layer. It is dramatic in the best way, flowing without being fussy.

Here is the honest downside: those bangs will fall into your eyes by lunch if you skip the blow dryer and round brush. They need their own five minutes every morning, separate from the rest. The layers need a trim every eight to ten weeks, and the bangs need one every four. That is a lot of chair time for a teenager. But if you are willing to book it, the payoff is a haircut that does not quit.

Visual Idea

The back of this updo is where the real work lives. Twisted braids wrap around each other in a pattern that looks random but absolutely is not, and the curls spill out from underneath like an afterthought. Dark brown with subtle highlights gives the whole thing dimension, so the braids read as separate pieces instead of one muddle. Thick, wavy texture is basically a requirement here; fine hair would not hold the twists.

This is a salon job, no question. The braiding alone takes patience, and the curling needs to happen before the twists go in, not after. It is the kind of style you book for a homecoming or a winter formal, not a Tuesday. Middle part, no bangs, mid-back length. It will hold through an evening of dancing, which is more than I can say for most updos.

Mid-Back Visual Idea

Do you have fine, straight hair that goes flat by 4 pm no matter what you do to it in the morning? Then listen up. This ash blonde mid-back style is built for exactly that texture, with pigtails braided close to the scalp and a small orange bead accent catching the light. The braids add visual interest and texture to hair that would otherwise just hang there, and the side part keeps it from feeling like a schoolgirl style.

The length is the thing that surprises people. Mid-back is long enough to braid properly but not so long that the weight pulls the braids loose by dinner. Straight, fine texture means the braids lie smooth and neat, no frizz fighting the pattern. No bangs to worry about, which is a relief. The bead accent is a small touch, but it is the difference between a style and a statement. This leans salon for the initial cut, but the braiding itself is a bathroom-mirror job once you have the technique down.

Short On Sides Longer On Top Visual Idea

Best grow-out in this roundup. The undercut with textured top is a commitment I respect. Short on the sides, longer on top, no bangs to speak of, natural dark brown. The curly top needs volume to land right, and the shaved sides demand a salon visit every three weeks. I have fine hair that goes flat by 4 pm, so I would skip this. But if your texture holds shape and you like a side view that reads as deliberate, this is the cut. The upkeep is real. The payoff is realer.

лопатки Visual Idea

I did not expect to like a серо-голубой moment this much. The colour lands cool without reading as costume, and at лопатки length with a middle part, it sits clean. Two braids twisted into two buns, straight texture, medium density. This is festival hair, the kind you plan a week around. The colour alone is a statement, but the double buns push it into playful territory. Not a bathroom-mirror job. The braiding takes skill, the colour takes a salon, and the whole thing takes an afternoon. Worth it for one good photo.

Shoulder Length Visual Idea

The twisted updo with braids is doing more than you think. Shoulder length, black, coily and thick, no bangs. The side part feeds into the twist, and the braided accents hold the shape without pins slipping. This is a salon style. The skill needed to shape textured coils into an updo that stays is not something you learn from a YouTube video at midnight. If your hair is fine or low density, the twist will look thin. For thick coily texture, this is a look that reads as intentional and stays put.

Visual Idea — The Hair Has A Blonde Balayage Colour

Source: haircutinspiration.com

Have you ever watched a stylist cut curtain bangs and wondered how they land so soft? The trick is the blend. Mid-back length, long layers, soft waves, a blonde balayage that adds dimension without a harsh line. The curtain bangs start at the cheekbone and feather into the layers, so there is no blunt edge. Middle part, face-framing pieces that move with the wave. The stylist cuts the bangs dry and the layers wet, then checks the balance when you sit up. It is a process, but the result is a shape that does not fight itself.

Ash Blonde With Darker Roots Visual Idea

Ash Blonde With Darker Roots Visual Idea — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls
Via content.latest-hairstyles.com

I will admit I have done this wrong. Ash blonde with darker roots sounds intentional, and it can be. But the mistake people make is letting the grow-out line sit too low. Mid-back length, straight thick texture, a blunt fringe that hits the brow, middle part, high sleek ponytail. The darker roots need to stay at the scalp, not creep halfway down the shaft. If the contrast is too wide, it reads as neglect, not design. The honest downside is that ash blonde fades cool and the roots grow warm, so you are toning every four weeks or accepting the shift.

Dark Brown Visual Idea

Best intricate for the time it asks. This is not a five-minute fishtail, it is a fifteen-minute commitment with a mirror and some patience. I have watched friends mutter through the over-under pattern, redo it twice, then stuff the loose strands back in. But the result holds through a whole school day and a dance, provided you start with wavy texture. The back-view layered cut, mid-back length, no bangs. A side part keeps it from pulling too tight across a round face. The small effort earns a big payoff, and your hands learn the rhythm after the third try.

Upkeep is the easy part. Dark brown on layered hair hides grow-out for weeks, so trims can wait a full ten weeks. The braid itself lasts longer when you wrap the end with a clear elastic and tuck it. Fine hair looks fuller woven this way, the strands double their visual weight. Thick hair stays neat because the layers shorten the fall. Close to forty-four inches of patience, braided down.

Ash Blonde Visual Idea

Ash blonde is a precise color, cool enough to read silver in some light and gray in others, and it does something clever with fine, straight hair. The bubble ponytail construction, sections of hair tied at intervals down the length, adds visual weight where fine hair usually has none. It’s the rare style that makes thin hair look deliberate rather than thin. The middle parting keeps the front clean while the bubbles do the talking. If your hair is coarse or thick, skip this one, the bubbles turn into lumps. Fine hair, though, this is your trick.

Honey Blonde With Lighter Highlights Visual Idea

Have you ever watched a braid and thought, that took someone an hour and a half? This is that braid. The central fishtail braid runs down the back of this mid-back length, and it’s not the loose, beachy kind you fake with a few pulls. It’s tight, precise, and it makes a simple ponytail look like you have a stylist on call. The honey blonde base with lighter highlights adds dimension, so the braid reads as a series of ribbons rather than one flat rope. Compared to a basic three-strand braid, which takes five minutes and looks like it, this is a commitment. You need medium-density, wavy hair for the sections to grip, and you need patience. The long layers help the braid taper instead of blunting at the end. It’s not a daily style, it’s a Saturday-night style, and it holds through a whole evening without needing a touch-up.

Shoulder Visual Idea

That texture is not happening with a flat iron and hope. Light brown with subtle highlights, side part, shoulder length, no bangs, medium density, wavy by nature or by large-barrel curling wand. The layers are cut specifically to clump into distinct waves, not soft blended ones. A salon does this, your bathroom mirror cannot. The side view shows movement, a scalloped edge where the layers end at different points. Finer hair would need a texture spray to keep the separation, coarse hair holds the shape all day. A trim every eight weeks maintains the points. Not a hard style, but not a free one.

Visual Idea — Transitioning Into Loose

Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls
Courtesy of: fabmood.com

Three neat braids from a middle part, then a release into loose voluminous waves. This is how the patched braid wave gets its shape without heat. Dark blonde with a balayage effect, collarbone length, thick wavy texture, no bangs. The pattern emerges after five or six hours of wait time, or overnight. The long last: the waves hold until the second day, then soften into a tousled look.

The technique is straightforward. Part down the middle, braid three sections per side as close to the scalp as you can manage, then undo when the hair is dry or nearly dry. The balayage stripes follow the braid edges, so the dimension moves with the wave. Collarbone length is the minimum for this to drape instead of bounce. Fine thick hair works best, thin hair reverts to straight by midday. Do it before bed and sleep on it, the result surprises.

Undercut With Textured Top Visual Idea

The side part does a lot of work here, directing the eye past the shaved section toward the swept-back top. That textured crown is the part that needs daily attention, a quick blast of heat and a dry texture spray to keep it from collapsing into the undercut by second period. The ash blonde shade reads cool against most skin tones, and the side-swept bangs soften what is otherwise a very committed shape. Fine hair actually benefits from the contrast, the shaved side creates instant volume on top. This is a salon booking, not a bathroom experiment, the undercut line needs a steady hand.

Short Visual Idea

Can a space bun hold glitter and still look intentional? Yes, if the braided accents anchor the whole thing. The straight fringe sits heavy above the buns, which keeps the look from reading as purely costume. Coily, thick hair holds the braided patterns best, the glitter sticks without sliding off. This is a party or a festival moment, not a Tuesday. The short length means the buns sit high and visible, and the black shade makes the glitter pop. Book a stylist who knows how to braid tight against the scalp, loose sections unravel before the first photo.

Collarbone Visual Idea

Collarbone Visual Idea — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls
Source: cdn.diys.com

I will admit I was skeptical of curtain bangs on a layered bob this short. The collarbone length means the face-framing layers hit right at the jaw, which is a strong look when it works and a daily wrestling match when it doesn’t. The wavy blowout in the photo is the ideal state, but without a round brush and some patience, those layers separate into odd angles by midday. Medium density hair carries the shape best, fine hair loses the wave too fast. The brown with blonde highlights adds dimension, but the real question is whether you want to style those bangs every morning. Some days you will, some days you won’t.

Light Brown With Blonde Highlights Visual Idea

Light Brown With Blonde Highlights Visual Idea — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls
Via fabmood.com

This cut flatters medium-density, wavy hair and does almost nothing for fine or very straight textures. The braided crown needs enough grip to stay pinned, and the loose waves below need enough body to hold a bend. The light brown base with blonde highlights creates contrast that reads best on warm or neutral skin tones, cooler undertones might find the blonde too golden. The middle part and no bangs keep the face open, which suits oval and heart shapes well, round faces may want a side part instead.

The mid-back length gives you room to braid without the crown pulling too tight. This is a salon-leaning style, the braid placement and wave pattern are not a five-minute job. The waves will soften by day two, but the braid holds for a full day if you pin it well. Skip this if your hair is fine or low density, the crown will look thin within an hour.

Long Layered Visual Idea

Long Layered Visual Idea — Haircuts 2027 for Teenage Girls

My gut reaction was that the braided crown would take forever, and I was right. The half-up style with braids and loose waves requires sectioning, pinning, and a curling iron for the bottom half. The honey blonde with lighter highlights shows every missed strand, so the braid needs to be neat. Medium to thick density is non-negotiable here, thin hair will not cover the braid base without visible gaps. The back view in the photo shows the layers falling evenly, but that takes a stylist who cuts with the wave pattern in mind, not against it.

The common mistake is rushing the braid and ending up with a lopsided crown. The waves below need to be set first, then the braid woven on top, not the reverse. The mid-back length gives enough weight to keep the waves from pulling the braid loose. This is a salon-leaning style for the cut, but the styling is a weekend project. The upkeep is a trim every ten weeks to keep the layers from tangling into the braid section.

Final Thoughts

After writing all of these, I noticed something. The cuts that stayed in my head were not the dramatic ones. They were the ones that looked like they belonged to the person wearing them. The light brown bob with soft bangs. The shaggy lob with textured waves. Simple, but not boring.

I am booking the French bob next week. My hair is fine, straight, and I know it will go flat by 4 pm. But the shape is good. That is enough.
