Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2025

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on Trevalix, and what choices you have regarding their use. By continuing to use trevalix.com, you agree to the use of cookies as described here (unless you disable them via your browser, as explained below).

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and store certain information about your preferences or past actions. Cookies can be “session cookies” (which expire when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). Cookies by themselves do not tell us your email address or personally identify you, but they do allow for a smoother experience (like keeping you logged in, remembering your site preferences, or showing relevant content).

How Trevalix Uses Cookies:
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for several reasons:

  • Essential Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. For instance, if our site has a login or comment feature that requires remembering your session, or to remember your cookie consent choice so you’re not asked every single time. Without these cookies, certain basic functions of the site might not work.

  • Analytics Cookies: We use analytics tools (like Google Analytics) that set cookies to collect information about how visitors use Trevalix. This includes data like which pages are visited, how long people stay, how they arrived at our site, and any errors encountered. The information is aggregated and anonymous – we cannot identify you personally from these cookies. Analytics cookies help us improve the website’s content and performance (for example, by seeing what topics readers enjoy most).

  • Functional Cookies: These cookies remember choices you might make on our site to provide a more personalized experience. For example, if there’s an option to switch language or theme (dark mode, etc.), functional cookies would remember your selection. (Currently, Trevalix doesn’t have a lot of custom settings, but if we introduce features like saving your favorite posts or similar, cookies could be used for that.)

  • Advertising and Affiliate Cookies: As of now, Trevalix doesn’t display third-party banner ads, but we do participate in affiliate marketing. If you click an affiliate link on our site (for example, a link to a product on Amazon or another retailer), a cookie may be set by the third party to track that you visited from our site and whether you made a purchase. This is so Trevalix can be credited with a commission. These cookies are typically set by the third-party partners and not by Trevalix itself, but we want you to be aware of them. Additionally, if in the future we host any advertising, those ads might use cookies (or similar technologies like web beacons) to personalize ads for you on our site or across other sites. We will update this policy if/when general advertising is implemented.

Cookie Consent:
On your first visit to Trevalix (especially if you’re in a region like the EU where it’s required), you may see a banner or popup explaining our use of cookies and asking you to consent. By clicking “Accept” or continuing to browse the site after seeing that notice, you are consenting to our use of cookies as described here. If you prefer not to allow non-essential cookies, you can choose to decline or close the banner (which may limit certain features). You can always change your mind by clearing cookies or adjusting settings (see below).

Your Choices – How to Control or Delete Cookies:
You have the right to choose whether or not to accept cookies. Here are some ways you can manage cookies:

  • Browser Settings: Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. You can also remove or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. Check your browser’s help section for specific instructions on how to manage cookies:

    • Google Chrome: Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data.

    • Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.

    • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Block all cookies (or manage website data).

    • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Site permissions > Cookies and site data.

    • Others: Each browser is different – look at the documentation for that browser.
Keep in mind, disabling cookies may affect the functionality of Trevalix. If you block essential cookies, parts of our site (like commenting) might not work properly.

  • Third-Party Opt-Outs: For cookies set by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on which prevents Google Analytics from collecting information on your visits to sites that use GA. Similarly, for any future advertising cookies, you might use tools from the Digital Advertising Alliance or Network Advertising Initiative to opt-out of interest-based advertising.

  • Do Not Track: Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that, when enabled, sends a signal to websites to request that your browsing is not tracked. Currently, there is no standard interpretation of DNT signals. While we respect your privacy, Trevalix does not currently respond differently to a DNT signal. We will monitor developments around this standard.

Third-Party Cookies:
As mentioned, some cookies on Trevalix are placed by third parties – such as Google (for analytics) or retailers (for affiliate tracking). Trevalix does not control these cookies directly. Third-party involvement on our site may include:

  • Embedded content: If in a blog post I embed a YouTube video, an Instagram feed, or a Pinterest pin, those platforms might set cookies when you interact with that embedded content, just as if you visited their site/app directly.

  • Social Media: If we have any social media sharing buttons or widgets on the site (e.g., a Facebook “Like” button or a Twitter “Tweet” button), those services may set cookies to allow proper function (like remembering if you’ve already liked something) or to collect usage info. Interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.

We recommend that if you have any concerns, you review the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party services you interact with via our site.

Changes to This Cookie Policy:
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our usage. When we do, we’ll revise the “last updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we may also provide a more prominent notice or ask for consent again as required by law.

Contact Us:
If you have questions about our use of cookies or how we treat your data in general, please email us at contact@trevalix.com. We’ll be happy to clarify anything in this policy.

By staying on Trevalix and using our site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Cookie Policy. Thank you for visiting, and enjoy your time here (with or without cookies)!
